What To Consider Before Setting Up A Windmill

Setting up a wind turbine large enough to power
an average sized home will cost you somewhere between $6,000 to

• The place should have an area of at least

the windmill blades will not be able to capture enough wind power for
the windmill to work.
• How much output you want your windmill to
generate.
• Sturdiness of components. You don't want your
newly assembled windmill to get damaged by heavy winds in the next
couple of weeks, do you?.
Before getting the manual, you need
to find out if the site that you want to set up your windmill
is really in a windy location, otherwise the whole effort will
be wasted. Remember that best results are at 11 MPH(5.5m/s)
or more . But wind turbines can also produce decent results
in any area that has wind gusts of around 8 MPH(3.5m/s).
If you are not sure about the wind speed in your area, consult
the Wind Maps to find out the average wind speed of your location-
USA , Canada , Europe , Africa , South America , South Asia , Australia , Asia
It will not be worth your effort to build a windmill in an area
that has the average annual wind speed under 6 MPH, In this
case, you should consider Solar Power.
